"For the development of novel light-sheet microscopy for live-cell bioimaging," under the supervision of Prof. Michael Loy and Shengwang Du.

Sze Cheung LAU has worked on developing advanced light-sheet microscopy for live-cell imaging since Summer 2015. In her work, which led to this award, she made a significant contribution to the invention of the ultrathin line-Bessel-sheet microscope and leading effort in building a two-photon light-sheet microscope. She coauthored one research paper [Scientific Reports 6, 26159 (2016)] and is a co-inventor of one PCT patent application.
