Service Award for Undergraduate Physics Students

The Department of Physics announces Service Award for Undergraduate Physics Students to promote the spirit of service among the Physics students. Priority will be given to those who served their fellow Physics students, the Physics Department, or the community in the capacity of Physics students. The total amount of the award is up to HK$10,000 annually shared by one or more students.

Below are some examples of excellent service conducted by physics students in previous years, but other equally worthy services will also be qualified. Past examples included hosting exchange-in students, providing tutorials for junior UG students, delivering mini-lectures in secondary schools, organizing Physics promotional activities for primary and secondary school students such as summer camps and local or non-local study trips.

[1] Eligibility

All physics undergraduate students with a CGA of 2.85 or above are eligible to apply.

[2] Application Procedure

(a) Interested students should submit the filled application form (download the application form) and at least one recommendation letter to phaward@ust.hk, on/before 10 October.
(b) Shortlisted students will be invited to give a presentation to the Scholarship Task Group. The presentations last for 10 minutes, followed by 10 minutes of questions and answers.
(c) Awardees will receive the award during the annual Department Awarding Ceremony.
